What Endorsed Candidates Are Saying About Eleanor’s Legacy

KATHY HOCHUL,
GOVERNOR OF NEW YORK
“Eleanor's Legacy has played an essential role in shaping my career in politics. They supported me when I first ran for local office and have been in my corner ever since. It's especially tough for first-time women candidates. That's why the work Eleanor's Legacy does is so crucial. From campaign training to helping raise money for pro-choice Democratic women up and down the ballot, their support has been invaluable to me and so many other New York women leaders.”
LETITIA JAMES,
ATTORNEY GENERAL OF NEW YORK
Eleanor's Legacy is an integral part of New York's political world. For more than two decades, they have helped level the playing field for pro-choice Democratic women seeking to run for political office in New York. I am grateful to Eleanor's Legacy for their early and strong support of my campaigns and for all they do to build a pipeline of talented leaders for tomorrow.
ANDREA STEWART-COUSINS,
NEW YORK STATE SENATE MAJORITY LEADER
“I will always be grateful to Eleanor’s Legacy because they were one of the first organizations to support me when I first ran for State Senate. For two decades, they have been and continue to be a tremendous resource to pro-choice Democratic women running for office at the state and local level.”
CARRIE WOERNER,
ASSEMBLY MEMBER (D-ROUND LAKE)
"Eleanor's Legacy has played a significant role in my successful campaigns. From the lessons I learned in campaigning and fundraising at the candidate training, to the mentoring and financial support of Eleanor's Legacy board and staff, they have provided invaluable assistance."
JAIME PUCCIONI,
NISKAYUNA TOWN SUPERVISOR
"I am honored to have twice earned the support and endorsement of Eleanor’s Legacy in my campaigns. Niskayuna is home to Bellevue Women’s Center and it is more important than ever to have a pro-choice woman of color represent and protect reproductive health care initiatives locally. I am thankful for the financial and strategic advice Eleanor's Legacy has provided during my campaigns."
YVETTE VALDÉS SMITH
DUTCHESS COUNTY LEGISLATURE MINORITY LEADER
“As a Latina and a working mom with two kids, I’m grateful to Eleanor’s Legacy for all they do to support a diverse range of pro-choice women. Candidates running at the local level just can’t afford professional staff, but Eleanor’s Legacy gave me a solid grounding in campaign basics and has been in my corner every step of the way. No other organization provides the same level of support to pro-choice Democratic women running for local office. Period.”
