Here is the form to register to vote in New York State. This form can also be used to change your address and change your party enrollment.

2017 is a local election year in New York State. Below is a list of important dates for voters. All dates are for 2017. This list does not include the dates of any special elections that might arise. Find more information at the New York State Board of Elections.

August 23
Change of address deadline for enrolled voters

September 5
Last day to postmark an application for an absentee ballot for Primary Day

September 12
Primary Day

October 13
Last day to register to vote in order to be eligible to vote in the general election in November

Last day to change your party enrollment in order to be eligible to vote in the 2018 primaries

New York has closed primaries. In order to vote in a primary in New York, you must be a registered voter enrolled in the party holding the primary, eg only enrolled Democrats vote in the Democratic primary. If you are currently registered to vote in New York but are not enrolled in a party, you must enroll by October 13, 2017 in order to vote in that party's primaries in 2018.
